Priming
- All metal parts are primed using Rust-Oleum primer
Painting
- All metal parts are painted with a minimum of two coats of Rust-Oleum paint
- Hand painting on metal parts can be done to outline or bring focus to certain areas upon arrangement
- Rust-Oleum paint will be used for all painting
Wood
- Wooden bench slats are handcrafted from one-inch Red or White Oak (your choice) and will be planed to a thickness of 3/4 of one inch
- Edges of wood will be rounded over using either 1/2 inch round over router bit
- Wood will be sanded to a finished smoothness using sandpaper starting at 80 grit, then 120 grit, then 220 grit, and finally 320 grit or higher
Staining
- Wood can be stained using MinWax stain of your choice
- Special Walnut or Walnut stain look especially nice on the benches
Varnish
- The final touch is to use a special HVLP spray gun to apply a minimum of four coats of MinWax Helmsman Spar Eurethane
- This is MinWax's best product for withstand weathering and provides the longest lasting protection for the wood
